Anyhow, lots going on… I’ve finally posted a professional site, which is odd considering the amount of web-work I do for other people. Still have some things to work out (i.e. need to upload some papers), but it’s functional for the time being. I used iWeb, which is fast and clean looking, though I suspect I’m going to get upset with it at some point and just code the site up from scratch.

Starting a new writing project as well, and am excited to see where it goes. I have three open projects at the moment, two novels and a shorter fable… all of which are still alive, but for some reason I’ve been drawn in a different direction these past few days, and am just going with it. At least I’m writing something.

WCCFL is this weekend, I’ve actually missed the first day already, but will be around for the rest of the weekend. Plenty of interesting talks and no reason to be bored this weekend. How exciting.

Anyway, I just spent the last hour writing. It felt more like penance than art, but I suppose that’s fine. It’s the routine that’s more important right now. The slow crawl back toward my old writing schedule, though that was quite a few years ago, and before the whole dissertation thing. At the moment, my main goal is to get over the feeling that doing any writing that isn’t immediately relevant to my dissertation is some kind of adultery.

In any case, I must now to bed. Otherwise I’ll feel like crap all day tomorrow, and there are experiments to be done.

Those of you who are reading this, whoever you are, might have found this blog via some sort of eve-online related link. Unfortunately I’ve given up on EVE, at least for the time being, and have Ghenna’s blog has been re-tasked to this. Cheers to all the great people in EVE, fly reckless. I’ll probably be back at some point. Read on if you like, or go lose a few punishers for me.

If you didn’t get here via EVE, I have no idea where you came from, but that’s okay. Everyone’s welcome. Hopefully at some point there will actually be a reason for you to come back. As of now there is just this post, and the notion that I intend to use this as a public space to keep myself on track as I attempt to finally write down and publish the ideas that I have been keeping in cages for the past few years. I dabble in a lot of things, and the hope is that over the next few months I’ll make time to dabble harder in them.

For now though, this is only a promissory note in the digital aether .
